Brick Work
Brick veneer and structural brick on new construction and additions.
Masonry is structural and it is permanent. It is also the first place a foundation problem becomes visible.
Brick and block do not bend. When a structure moves, masonry cracks, and the pattern of that cracking says something about what moved and why. Repointing a crack without asking that question repairs the evidence rather than the problem.
Moisture is the other consideration. Masonry absorbs water and needs a way to release it. Weep holes, flashing, and the cavity behind a brick veneer are what let a wall dry, and sealing masonry the wrong way traps water inside the assembly.
We self-perform masonry on new construction, remodels, and repair.

The same crews perform this work on new construction, on remodels of existing buildings, and during the rebuild phase of a restoration project. One page, one standard, whichever way you arrived here.

Learn moreNot always, but it is always worth asking. Masonry does not bend, so it cracks when a structure moves. The pattern and location of the cracking is evidence about what moved.
Removing deteriorated mortar from joints and replacing it. It is appropriate where the mortar has failed but the masonry units themselves are sound.
Carefully, and not with everything sold for it. Masonry absorbs and releases moisture, and a sealer that stops it from drying traps water inside the wall assembly.
We match as closely as available material allows. Exact matches on older brick are sometimes not possible, and we say so before starting.
